Local Attractions
The local towns of Calatagan, Balayan, Lian and Nasugbu are close by within 15 kms or so. Each has a market (palengke), selling everything from cheap trinkets to live chickens, and some interesting architecture and public buildings. There are also ATMs, banks, pharmacies and other shops.
Also within easy travel distance are the following attractions:
- Cape Santiago Lighthouse
- Taal Basilica, The Minor Basilica and Parish of Saint Martin of Tours, commonly known as Taal Basilica, is a minor basilica in the town of Taal, Batangas, within the Archdiocese of Lipa. It is considered to be the largest church building in the Philippines and in Asia.
- Enrique Zobel Museum
- Charijo Del Charro, where local artisan, Ricky Yabut, works to produce the beautiful and unique mixed media works that are displayed and for sale around the resort. Viewings of his workshop and showroom are by appointment.
Slightly further afield are the provincial towns of Lemery & Taal which house both the National Camera Museum (Galleria Taal, Agoncillo Street) and the largest Roman Catholic Church in Asia, the Taal Basilica.

When en route to the Coral Beach Club
The drive to Batangas from central Manila will normally take about 2 & ½ hours depending on the time of day, traffic and weather. There is a continuing programme of road improvements that is making the journey quicker and easier so why not consider breaking your journey with some of the following suggestions. You could stop & shop at the new shopping centres that have arisen on the road between Sta Rosa (just off the SLEX) and Nuvali….you name it, it is probably there and there are a host of eateries as well.
In Tagaytay City (50km from the resort or one hour on) you will find Taal Lake, which is famous for having a volcano on an island, in a lake, in a volcano on an island! You can take a boat to the island then hike to the volcano (or ride a horse there!). Having built up an appetite you could eat in one of many restaurants in the area (or just carry on to the Club!).
Above all, just take it easy on the way and we be here at the resort to welcome you and help you to ‘slow down and pleasure up!’. Relax, you’ll soon be at the beach!
